than 20 IWRB Research Groups (RGs), providing an international forum
for experts to communicate and collaborate. These cover texonomic
aspects, such as the Heron RG, and management aspects, such as the
Wetland Restoration RG, and the Hunting RG. The RGs provide specialist
advice to help achieve the goal of sustainable use of wetlands and
their wildlife.
IWRB meets goal of promoting the conservation of wetlands
and wetland biodiversity through:

Monitoring weterbird populations.
Waterbird action plans.
Supporting international conventions.
Research Groups.
Training.
